Whitewater Rafting

Salmon River Float Trips

The way spring weather is behaving, we can expect spring runoff to last a good part of the summer, at least well into the month of July. Last week's report on snow water equivalent (for what it's worth) for the Salmon Basin showed it to be 188 percent of average. So, while supplies last, please call us at 1-888-654-4386 to make your reservation for a 1 day or multi-day trip.

BrownWater Rafting

Ever heard of brownwater rafting? It might be common in some places of the world, but not here in the Idaho Salmon River country. We learn to expect it every year! Brown spray, angry and brimming the banks, but it doesn't last forever. At this moment, we have spring runoff on the Salmon, but very soon the river will calm down, clear up and be right for recreation. The Salmon Basin snowpack is 155 per cent of average which promises great whitewater rafting for the summer of 2011.

Salmon River Rafting

If you crave excitement and like whitewater rafting, expect 2011 to be a banner year. There is so much white-stuff left to melt, and so far, cool spring temperatures have done little to speed up the process. Salmon River runoff could be late this year, but guaranteed there will be enough fast water to make your trip exciting.

Rafting on the Salmon River

A leisurely float is fun also. No whitewater, just a pleasant afternoon on the Salmon River in early Spring. Not terribly high, but yet a decent flow, and the water is clear. We floated from the Salmon, Idaho bridge to the Tower Creek take-out spot which is a distance of 9 to 10 miles in 3 hours.

The four guests who joined us on this trip, loved it. It was a perfect day on the Salmon River. Come, join us next time!
